Hot Stamp Printing
Hot stamping gets its name from the heat and pressure combination that weds the
preprinted pigment to the substrate. VisionMark uses the rotary method of hot
stamping, in which the inks are applied in-line on rolls of the substrate to be
printed.
Hot Stamping uses controlled heat, pressure, and precision timing to apply
colored or metallic pigment or resin to decorate surfaces of varied shapes and
materials. A heated die containing a raised graphic image is used to press the
inks onto the surface. Web advancement between stampings is precisely
controlled for consistent stamping quality and minimal waste. Abrasion and
chemical-resistant hot stamping foils are available in numerous colors and
resins to maximize image quality and durability. Custom-designed foils can be
supplied to match substrate characteristics, adding to the versatility of this
process.
Hot stamping is the only decorative method where brilliant gold and silver
metallic graphics can be produced. Foils are also manufactured in gloss or
matte pigment colors, wood grain designs, brushed effects, and chromium for
exterior use. Multicolored graphics can be accomplished with pre-printed heat
transfers and continuous patterned foils.
Hot stamp printing is a cost-effective process for products requiring heavy
color density, opacity, and durability in short to medium length production
runs. The process also provides for in-line finishing and converting operations
like laminating, die cutting, weeding, and slitting.
VisionMark is equipped with four hot stamp presses with a variety of capacity
and conversion options.

VisionMark is also able to use hot stamp printing in conjunction with thermal
transfer printing and flexographic printing for unique designs and
constructions.
